Jackie Lape has been a teacher in Florida and Mississippi for 43 years. She has taught jazz and gymnastics, pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade. She loves working with children because they bring such joy and wonder into everything they do. She love all things outdoors, kayaking, fishing, hiking, and of course yoga.

Jackie began her journey with yoga in 2006 and fell in love with the peace and focus it brought into her life by joining the mind, body, & spirit through asana and breath. She knew she wanted to share this mindfulness with others.

Jackie became a RYT200 Yoga Alliance certified instructor and YYT250 through Yahweh Yoga in 2016. She witnessed how yoga helped adults in practical ways and thought ‘If yoga is this beneficial for adults it could do the same for children.’ She began incorporating yoga in her classroom by practicing poses and breathing techniques daily to help her students learn focus, mindfulness, and self-regulation and saw wondrous results. She then wanted to bring the same success to other children. She trained in New Orleans with Kidding Around Yoga and became a licensed/certified Children’s yoga instructor and began YogaPlay/ Kidding Around Yoga with Miss Jackie in May 2018. She continues to train and research ways to share yoga for its ability to renew the body & mind. She loves the way a gentle mindful class can refresh the spirit, and she is excited each day that she is able to share my passion for yoga with adults as well as children.
